IUFRO
Dates: from 1892
The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests.
The IUFRO forest research organisation and the OptiForValue project share a strong commitment to advancing sustainable forest management and enhancing the value of forest ecosystems. While IUFRO promotes global collaboration among forest scientists, OptiForValue contributes through applied research, innovation, and knowledge exchange in Europe. Together, their work supports improved understanding of forest biodiversity, ecosystem services, and climate resilience, fostering science-based solutions for the future of forests. Some of the OptiForValue partners are members of the IUFRO and its working groups.
