Objectives
Lead by Linnaeus University (LNU), WP1 OptiMonitor’s overall objective is to develop and monitor RS-based EWIs of declining tree health and wood quality, which will be calibrated against dendrochemical data and tree physiological data, enabling the development of risk assessment tools for drought (across Europe), fire (Spain), insects (Sweden), and snow damage (Finland and Austria) to be carried out using a pan-European sampling network including four super test sites covering Mediterranean, temperature, and (sub)boreal forest conditions.
